Amanda Brugel

Brugel was the sole Canadian cast member in season 1 of the series, and not seen much. It has been her main cast as a member since. As she discussed her role and the similarities with her real life, Brugel could relate to racism and the discrimination she's faced throughout her life. The actress said: "I lean heavily on race. Like I mentioned, I have encountered situations where I felt that I was treated as the slave because I am black." There hasn't been any physical assaults on the streets due to my race. However, I most certainly have been verbally abused. In the series, I'll use any kind of racial epithets, slurs, or insults that make me believe that someone's hit me.
